DaWu Philharmonie Wien was established by Taiwanese conductor Madeline Tsai, also a long-time resident of Vienna, amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. With generous start-up support from an anonymous medical doctor in Taiwan in Covid Period, Madeline was able to continue pursue lifelong aspirations and advance steadily in her career despite the global crisis.
Besides traditional classical music, Madeline has great passion in working with living composers and a variety of creativity. She hopes that the new orchestra will not only introduce Taiwanese composers’ music to Europe, but also set the stage for musicians who are seeking a temporary place to practice and make music during the pandemic.
